Sports Day is over. I can finally have my life back.

I have mixed feelings.

This year, in terms of sports medals, I have had the least achievements of all my high school life. But, thats okay. :)

I have an amazing group of yellow house members working for me for house decorations. Creative, innovative, technical people who would amke AMAAZZING engineers. Dedicated members who stay back even more than me to stick starch onto newspapers, cut aluminium cans in half and cut out cardboard pieces out etc etc.

The most spirited marchers that I have ever seen. The ones who are willing to be shouted at 5 hours a day under the hot sun doing something that they could have easily backed out of. I admire their dedication and spirit. You guys deserve it, all those hours of practice, sweat, determination. You made me proud.

I love you and I just want to say I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, I failed in my resposibility as a captain. I'm sorry, I didn't plan well. I'm sorry I left it all to you. I'm just sorry.

Thank you for not pointing this out to my face. But, I want you to know, I know it.

This victory, this 3rd place, belongs to you. Not to me.

This year, I'm a totally changed person.

I'm too stressed out, I don't make time for you, I snap, I'm self-righteous, I complain a lot, I criticize, I cry a lot and I'm sad most of the time. I'm sorry, as I'm writing this post, I'm crying. I don't know what happened to my old self. I don't know myself anymore because all this while I've been piling so much stuff on top of myself and telling myself I'm okay. But, I'm not.

I'm sorry, Jae Haan, mummy, daddy, huili, chenlynn, carmen, shulin, dylan, kayzhi, yeshan, zhong wei, ejia, elizabeth, kharenee, ziling, peishe, rachel ho/gan, ryan and the yellow house members.

I'm a shell of my old self and I'm sorry I couldn't give you the best.

Most of all, I'm sorry, Lord. Its so hard to bring myself to face You again. Please give me the courage.

You know that evil word... the one that makes you so stressed out? Where people break down and cry when it gets too much. That word, that thing, that makes us all flip out and aim to do our best and reach it even though the journey is so tough, exhausting and plain kills you.


EXPECTATIONS


I've never had so much on my hands. So heavy a burden on my shoulders. So many people's expectations to meet.


The debaters, the edboarders, the athletes and the latest addition, the yellow house members.

Not to mention my results.

There will be times when I will start breaking down in school. I will cry like I've never cried before. But those of you who see me, don't worry. Just comfort me and give me a little time, because I'll get right back up and meet your expectations and I will smile through it.

I will be all that I can be.




It will be a crazy, exhausting, chaotic year. There will be sweat, tears, maybe blood? But at the end of it, I'll come out a more matured, wiser, enriched, more DETERMINED person.


Well, not that kind of determination. :D

I went running with Carmen yesterday. (: Long story short, running with friends very awesome. (: We're going to be doing this much more often. SO if you see 2 girls trying to run through the tall,tall grass on the padang and squealing at the muddy patches but keep on going, and sighingin relief when we reach the pavement thats us. (:

And when I get tired, I hum Dory the fish's song in Finding Nemo. Like What on Earth.

I agree with Kharenee. An update IS in order. But I've been having month long exams and this just high school. =/

Well, I've worked really, really really hard and whatever results come out, I'll accept them. I have no more energy and I ust thank God for helping me get through them without completely cracking under stress.

Yes people. I know I seldom update. I'm surprised that my blog actually still has visitors. Made my day. (: Thats why I'm sitting here in my sweaty sports attire and my hair in a bun with my horribly sweaty fringe just to update. You people follow my blog lah! i tell you, The Body Shop marketing campaign very chun what with all the recycling and natural beauty crap.

To quote Carmen, everytime I go into body shop, they make me feel like what I'm buying is very worth it.


When you come out though,. your money has dwindled to virtually nothing yet you still feel on top of the world for about 5 minutes then you realize that you don't know the value of money. I tell you ah, Body Shop brainwash people. But I love their scented body wash. Please buy me that people. I bake brownie for you. (:

The second photoshoot has left me looking like a zombie.

My life at the moment is like a rollercoaster ride, literally, with its peaks and pits.

I have an amazing grandomother who buys me kripy kreme.

I pulled a muscle in my left arm and it hurts more thn you can imagine.

I have pms which makes me cranky, moody and tired all day long.

I'm afraid I'll trip in my heels on installation thanks to huili ingraining that fear in my mind.

I am really in need of tuition and a pen drive.

I have been pigging out on fried food for the past few days.

I have a new timetable for like the 6th time this year.

I love cherries.

We lost this round because we suposedly didn't engage enough. ): I borke down after that because it just got too much but was able to pick myself back up after awhile. But what Carmen said was true, losing the first round is really demotivating.

2nd Round

THEME : ENTERTAINMENT & FASHIONS.

MOTIONS :

We chose THW Not Marry Debaters.

It was a silent round so wedidn't know the results until the next day. I thought we lost be cause the seafield team, all public speakers, sound really, really convincing. I broke down again after that. I know I sound like a huge cry baby but it was stressful and I was so exhausted at the end of the day that I couldn't think straight anymore.

Turns out, WE WON! (:

THW Ban Smokers and Alcohol Abusers from Receiving Organ Transplants.
THBT it is the W.H.O. Who Should Restrict International Movement During Pandemics.

Gov. : Sri KDU 1 (Again!) Opp. : SMJK Katholik 3

We chose THW Ban Smokers and Alchohol Abusers from Receiving Organ Transplants.

The 1/2 hour prep time before that was so stressful because it was the last round and we NEEDED to win this. And it was also time to get revenge! (:
It became a definition challenge which was really messy. ): Sri KDU 1 totally squirreled the motion. ): Or maybe they did it by accident because both our teams aren't that experienced anyway.

I cried AGAIN. ): I really thought we lost and I tried so hard and put in effort. ): It was AGAIN a silent round.

After that, we had to go straight to the Lecture Hall to hear the announcement of breaking of teams. (into the quarter finals)

They announced Bukit Sentosa as no. 1, then RMC1 as no.2 ...
THEN!

SMJK KATHOLIK TEAM 2! (CARMEN'S TEAM!)

We were all shouting and screaming and banging on the table.

THEN!

Breaking 5th,

SMJK KATHOLIK TEAM 1!

and FINALLY,

Breaking 8th,

SMJK Katholik Team 3!

Means we won that 5th round! (: 4 wins out of 5! (:

Out of the 4 teams SMJK Kahtolik sent out, 3 of us managed to break into the top 8. It's really an achievement considering there were 52 teams!

But then, the surprise was that quarter finals were changed to octofinals which meant 16 teams got to break instead of 8. ):

THE THEME : World Politics

Motions :
THW MAKE JAPAN & GERMANY PART OF THE VETO POWERS IN THE UNSC.
THW KEEP AUNG SAN SUU KYI IN HOUSE ARREST FOR HER OWN GOOD.
THBT OBAMA SHOULD PUNISH BUSH AND HIS CIA AGENTS FOR THE TORTURE COMMITTED DURING THE BUSH PRESIDENCY.

We chose the motion THW Keep Aung San Suu Kyi in House Arrest For Her Own Good.

We really thought we won it. and we lost. That one, i cried again. Ya la, I know I cry a lot but it was that sense of immense failure. SMJK Katholik Team 2 lost too. ): But SMJK Katholik 1 proceeded on to the next round which was the real quarter finals! (:

The THEME for Quarter Finals : LAW & ORDER.

Motions :
THBT TRIAL BY 12 JURORS ARE BETTER THAN 1 JUDGE.
THBT PRISONERS SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION TO CHOOSE DEATH.
THW ABOLISH STATUTORY RAPE LAW.

Since Carmen's team and my team both lost, we went to support our seniors!

They chose THW Abolish Statutory Rape Law

Tlaked a lot of rubbish with Ian and Carmen while watching them. (: Ona 4-3 split decision, SMJK Katholik 1 won! They then proceeded to the semifinals!!!! (:

THEME : Social & Religion

Motions :
THBT MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN ONLY A MALE AND A FEMALE.
THW BAN RELIGIOUS SYMBOLS IN PUBLICLY FUNDED SCHOOLS.
THBT HATE SPEECHES ON RELIGION SHOULD BE ALLOWED.

We went to give them our support again! This time the stakes were really high!

Gov. : RMC 1 Opp. : SMJK Katholik 1

They chose THBT Marriage Is Between Only A Male And A Female.

It was really funny! (: SMJK Katholik won this round by a 4-3 split again! (:
They then proceedeed to the GRAND FINALS!!!

Motions for Finals :
THBT SPM SHOULD NOT SET A MAXIMUM 10-SUBJECT LIMIT. BUT SHOULD BE A CHOICE FOR STUDENTS TO DECIDE.
THW PAY MONEY TO GROWN UP CHILDREN TO CARE FOR THEIR ELDERLY PARENTS.
THBT STUDENTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO VOTE IN THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.

They chose the motion THBT SPM Should Not Set A Maximum 10 Subject Limit But There Should Be A Choice For Students To Decide.

It looked like a lanslide victory to the Government at the start but Kaholik 1 slow gained backt heir ground but too late. ):

They lost by an 8-3 split Nevertheless, this was an amazing achievement for them! (:

SHAUN QUAH WAS THE BEST SPEAKER IN THE GRAND FINALS!!!!!!!!!!
